Role: Restaurant owner (Aspiring chef)

What is your Role as a Restaurant Owner?

As a restaurant owner, I coordinate the analysis and planning for BloemCoffee’s profitability and the sales levels, manage and direct the restaurant operations, monitor the stock levels and order supplies when required, and finally assist in the planning and managing restaurant menus.

I have always had a love affair with food, the different tastes, textures, smells and properties of ingredients drives me daily to try new meals

Every dish on our menu is something I thought of and tried, I mean, if I love it, you’re going to love it.

What strategy or mindset helps you in this role?

A strategy that has seen me lead a successful restaurant is proper delegation of duties. I believe that one should assign jobs based on someone’s skills. If I employ a kitchen worker who knows how to serve customers better than how to cook, I will change their roles to fit what they can do best. Several employees started in the kitchen and are now trained Baristas or waitresses. As for the right Mindset, always wanting the best for our customers and employees work the magic.

What Do You Like Most About Your Job?

Seeing customers satisfied and coming back to the restaurant makes me happy as a restaurant owner. Knowing that they are satisfied with our services gives me the urge to push on and continue getting better at running my little haven.
